SOFTWARE DEVELOPER GLOSTREAM, INC. LAUNCHES MICROSOFT WINDOWS VISTA-BASED ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORD APPLICATION

gloEMR Version 4.0 Incorporates Familiar Microsoft Word Interface and Voice Recognition Technology Leading to More Substantive Doctor-Patient Encounters

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. (November 13, 2007) – gloStream, Inc. (gloStream), an electronic medical records (EMR) software and practice management solutions provider serving healthcare facilities nationwide, today launched version 4.0 of gloEMR (gloEMR 4), its flagship EMR solution. gloEMR 4 is one of the first in the industry to be built on the Microsoft® Windows Vista™ platform.

The newest version of gloEMR features single click access to a broad range of clinical decision making tools, patient data, voice recognition technology and a robust document management system that streamlines workflow efficiencies. Focusing on user friendliness and productivity, gloEMR 4 leverages the power of Microsoft® Office Word™ 2007, Microsoft® SQL Server™ 2005, Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2005 and Microsoft® Windows Server® 2003.

“gloEMR 4 is a powerful and easy-to-use application that helps improve patient care, all while making doctors more productive,” said Michael Sappington, CEO of gloStream. “gloEMR’s key strength is the ability to efficiently capture the rich tapestry of the patient encounter, balancing physicians’ hard-data needs with the unique characteristics of each patient visit.”

gloEMR 4 can be easily customized to conform to the way doctors practice, offering balance between objective data elements such as patients’ blood pressure, medications and allergies; and subjective data including descriptions of patients’ conditions. Using dictation, type, touch and draw techniques, gloEMR promotes one-step documentation, leading to more substantive patient encounters. Clinicians can configure and adjust both specific patient health information, such as medications and histories and combine free-flow-text elements, such as voice dictation, in Microsoft Word-based dynamic forms.

In addition to the Microsoft Windows-based look and feel that incorporates tabs and customizable buttons and color schemes, gloEMR 4’s user interface and main dashboard allow physicians and medical staff to view and manipulate critical patient information with a single click. Built-in workflow and collaboration tools also allow users to track the location of patients throughout the duration of their visit, and access and share physician and staff schedules and calendars.

gloStream has extended its Open Platform for Health Information Technology (OPHIT) with gloEMR 4, enabling communication with third-party applications and devices. OPHIT allows either HL7 integration or direct integration with the gloEMR platform making it easy for practice management solutions and devices to connect to a single system.
